At SKYHALL® Fence, we understand that every construction site has unique challenges. Recently, we worked with a new customer from the United States who initially planned to purchase chain link fences for a temporary fencing system. After evaluating their project requirements, we suggested a more efficient alternative: the temporary construction fence. The primary advantage was clear—it costs less while still providing the necessary security and functionality for a construction site.
However, this was no ordinary temporary application. Our customer needed the fencing to remain in service for approximately four years—a long lifetime for a product often seen as short-term. This required a robust solution that could withstand continuous outdoor use and harsh environmental conditions. The compromise between a temporary product and a long service life was achieved through careful material selection and surface treatment.
Rather than offering a standard off-the-shelf product, we customized the fence panels to meet the customer’s exact durability targets. The final order of 540 sets was manufactured with the following specifications:
The key to achieving a four-year lifespan lay in the heavy-duty galvanization with a 200g zinc coating. Standard temporary fencing often uses lower coating weights, but for the demanding U.S. environment—which can include moisture, temperature swings, and road salts—this high-level protection ensures the wire and frames resist corrosion significantly longer. The robust base dimensions (600*230*150 mm) also provide stability without the need for permanent concrete foundations.
To make sure our clients receive the right products with high quality, we conducted series of inspections in terms of panel size, mesh size, wire diameter, zinc coating mass, etc. Here are some inspection photos for your reference. As a routine, we’ll generate inspection reports to give our clients peace of mind.
Beyond the fence panels, we ensured the customer received a complete fencing system. The order included all necessary posts and accessories, allowing the installation to begin immediately upon delivery. This full-set approach eliminates the delay and hassle of sourcing compatible components from multiple suppliers—a common pain point for contractors managing tight construction schedules.
The packaging and logistics strategy mirrored our successful project to Solomon Island (where we delivered 1250 sets). Fence panels were bundled together on pallets, bases were stacked separately, and all small accessories like clamps and bolts were packed securely into wooden boxes. Clear loading photos were shared with the customer for verification.
By choosing the customized temporary construction fence over chain link, the U.S. customer achieved two critical goals: a lower upfront cost and a four-year operational lifetime. The heavy galvanization provides peace of mind that the fencing will maintain its integrity through harsh weather, while the standardized 2200mm width and 1800mm height ensure compatibility with typical construction site layouts.
This project demonstrates that “temporary” does not have to mean “short-lived.” With the right material specifications—especially high-level galvanization—temporary fencing can reliably serve for years, offering an economical and practical alternative to permanent chain link systems. For contractors and site managers looking to balance budget and longevity, a customized solution like this is the ideal path forward.
Whether you need fencing for a few months or several years, SKYHALL® Fence delivers customized temporary fencing solutions tailored to your environment and budget. From heavy galvanization for harsh conditions to complete accessory kits for immediate installation, we handle every detail.
